How should I store my caviar?

Cold. Like your ex.

Cavi likes to chill—literally. Keep it in the fridge at 26°–38°F and don’t mess with it until you’re ready to eat. The less air it’s exposed to, the better.

Pro tip: Don’t open the tin until you're ready to go all in.

How long does caviar stay fresh?

Short answer: it’s not forever food.

  • Unopened sturgeon caviar stays fresh in the fridge for 4–6 weeks.
  • Unopened non-sturgeon caviar? You’ve got 2 weeks in the fridge or up to a year in the freezer.
  • Once opened? You’ve got 3 days to live your best life with it.

But let’s be honest—you’re not letting caviar sit around that long anyway.

Can I freeze caviar?

Depends on the vibe.

  • Black (sturgeon) caviar: Freezing it will kill the magic.
  • Red/orange (non-sturgeon) caviar: Go for it. Just know it might come back a little different. The texture and flavor can change, and nobody wants sad caviar.
Black caviar vs. red caviar—what’s the deal?

Here’s the tea:

  • Black caviar = sturgeon eggs. It’s the O.G., the classic, the real deal.
  • Red caviar = salmon, trout, or other non-sturgeon roe. Bright, bold, and still delicious—just not technically “caviar” by the fancy-pants definition.

We say eat what tastes good and skip the gatekeeping.

How do you serve caviar?

However you want. Seriously. But if you want to do it up right:

  • Spoon it on a blini with crème fraîche
  • Top a chip, fry, pizza slice, or whatever snack you’re vibing with
  • Sip some champagne (or tequila—we don’t judge)
  • Use a mother of pearl spoon to avoid that weird metallic taste
  • Keep it chilled over ice while serving—bonus points for a caviar server if you’re feeling extra

My ice packs melted. Is my caviar ruined?

Nope. That’s by design.

We pack your order to stay cool all the way to your door. The ice packs are supposed to melt by the time it arrives. As long as the tin feels cold to the touch, your caviar is good to go. Just pop it in the fridge and you’re golden

How do I check the status of my order?

Click “Track Your Order” or log into your account and head to ‘My Orders.’ Boom—everything you need is there. No emails. No overthinking. Just your caviar, en route.

Will my caviar stay fresh during shipping?

Obviously.

We use temperature-controlled packaging made to keep your caviar cool and collected until it hits your fridge. It’s handled with care the whole way through because half-melted caviar is not the vibe.

What if something shows up damaged?

Annoying? Yes. Fixable? Also yes.

If your package arrived looking off, hit us up and contact the carrier (usually UPS). Just keep everything as-is so we can file the claim. We’ll take it from there and make sure you’re taken care of.

Do you ship on national holidays?

Nope. Caviar doesn’t do holidays.

U.S. (Contiguous States only)
Express (required for perishable + optional for non-perishable)

  • Orders under $200 → $40

Alaska & Hawaii
Express only → $48 flat rate

Heavy Orders?

Caviar needs its chill. The heavier the order, the more ice and insulation it takes to get it to you fresh. That means extra shipping fees based on total weight and what’s inside.

Here’s how it breaks down:

  • We add 1 lb of ice per 1 lb of product
  • Add $3.95 per lb after the first 2 lb (Express only)

What are your order processing times?

Monday–Thursday

  • Order by 12:00 PM EST → Ships same day, arrives next (Express only)
  • After 12:00 PM EST → Ships next day, arrives the day after
  • Orders placed after 12:00 PM Thursday → Ship Monday, arrive Tuesday

Can I cancel my order?

Sorry—once it’s in, it’s in.

Caviar’s not exactly something we can “un-send.” Because we ship perishable goods, all orders are final and can’t be canceled once they’re placed.

Double-check your cart, your shipping info, and your cravings before hitting confirm. No take-backs.

Do you have a satisfaction guarantee?

We’re all about quality—and we stand behind what we ship.

If something’s off, let us know within 24 hours of receiving your order. We’ll make it right with an exchange or refund for the product (minus shipping).

Just make sure everything’s untouched, unopened, and all packaging is kept intact.

Can I make a return?

Heads up: Returns or exchanges for anything other than a quality issue? Not accepted. Caviar isn’t something you return just because you changed your mind.

As soon as your package lands, give it a once-over.

If anything looks damaged or tampered with, contact the carrier (FedEx or whoever delivered it) and our team right away. The sooner you let us know, the easier it is to sort things out.

One more thing: keep everything exactly as it arrived—packaging, products, all of it. We’ll need it to file a claim and make things right.

Cavi reserves the right to refuse a refund or exchange if we believe the package was tampered with after delivery. We take product integrity seriously—thanks for understanding.
